Heavy Equipment Operator Training

Dreaming of a career working with powerful machinery and contributing your skills to major construction projects? Become a Heavy Equipment Operator with ATC's new training program.

This 9-week in-person program includes hands-on and simulator training: 1 week of Life Management and Safety Training, followed by 8 weeks training on the rock truck, grader, dozer, loader and excavator.

 

🗓️August 24 - October 23, 2026 

📍Fort McMurray

 

Participants must:

🚧 Be First Nations, Inuit or Métis Living in Fort McMurray

🚧 Be at Least 18 Years of Age

🚧 Hold a Valid Class 5 License (Non-GDL)

🚧 Submit a Driver’s Abstract

🚧 Pass a Physical Demands Test

🚧 Pass a Drug and Alcohol Test

Over 4 weeks, they will delve into a comprehensive curriculum covering essential topics such as: • Computer and office skills • Customer service etiquette • Microsoft applications • Business communication By the end of the course, students will have gained the practical skills and knowledge necessary to advance their office skills.
