Job Summary

Athabasca Tribal Council (ATC) is recruiting for an Events Supervisor who will be responsible for the planning, design, and overall coordination of Corporate Events. The position requires a high level of attention to detail, exceptional communication, and organizational skills. In addition, a key component of this position is the promotion of volunteering opportunities to the public and maintaining a positive image of the organization within the community.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operationally plan internal and external events.

  • Supervise and maintain day to day operations of events team.

  • Build an Event Communication Plan and Multi-year Calendar which outlines the vision for internal and external events.

  • Research, formulate and submit funding applications to support programs and events activities.

  • Develops and recommends events best practices and procedures across the organization.

  • Develops and recommends volunteer strategy for events.

  • Oversight of events concepts, designs, and coordination of internal/external communication and promotional materials.

  • Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders and sponsorships.

  • Maintain brand standards in all communications (government and industry sponsorships)

  • Promote the involvement of staff through internal communications.

  • Monthly briefing report compiled and presented to the management team.

  • Consult with OHS to develop and implement a comprehensive safety plan for all events.

  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support organizational objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field preferred.

  • 5+ years of management experience in events and capacity is required.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and have ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

  • Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently.

  • Must have intermediate experience in MS office programs.

  • Ability to communicate in a friendly and informative manner with people from a wide variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds and lifestyles.

  • Ability to supervise and train employees, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Criminal Record or Vulnerable Sector Check

  • Child Intervention Record Check

  • Class 5 Driver’s License and Drivers Abstractls.
