Kinship Case Aide

JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Kinship/Foster Care Supervisor, the Case Aide supports the effective and efficient case management practices that produces the best outcome for children placed outside of family in Foster Care, Kinship Care or Group Care as per the Child, Youth, and Family Enhancement Act. The Case Aide provides a variety of non-delegated services to assist the Kinship/Foster Care program within the Child and Family Services Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Kinship/Foster Care caseworkers with case management, including data entry, file organization, and report preparation.
Collaborate with caseworkers to develop and implement Kinship/Foster Care Support plans.
Communicate with Caregivers, families, and community organizations and entities to gather information and provide support.
Transport Members and supervise visits as required to support the reunification of children back to family, community and culture.
Conduct initial assessments and screenings to identify Member needs.
Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date Member records.
Provide emotional support and guidance to Caregivers, children and their families.
Connect Caregivers with community and cultural resources & services.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ATC policies and procedures.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support organizational objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
High School Diploma, a diploma or degree in Social Work or related field.
Minimum three (3) years recent relevant experience is preferred.
Sensitivity to the historical and systemic impacts of colonialism, including intergenerational trauma, residential schools, and the Sixties Scoop.
Knowledge of Children and Family Services is considered an asset.
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal instructions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional organizational skills with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques.
Must be able to work well as a team and with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a confidential and fast-paced environment.
REQUIREMENTS
Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector.
Clear Child and Family Services Intervention Check.
Class 5 Drivers License and clear Drivers Abstract.
Availability to travel and work outside of business hours when necessary.
