Powwow Zumba

  • Athabasca Tribal Council Virtually on Zoom (map)

Join Madelaine McCallum on Zoom Tuesday nights! She virtually guides participants through an hour of fun dance moves that combine the tradition of Powwow dancing with the fitness dance of Zumba.

Keeping active and fit during the winter months is an important part of both physical and mental health. Powwow dancing connects us to the land, our traditions, and our ancestors. Zumba is a fitness program that combines music with dance moves and interval training — alternating fast and slow rhythms — to help improve cardiovascular fitness. Zumba is considered an aerobic exercise that can reduce health risks, help maintain a healthy weight, strengthen your heart and boost your mood.

Sign-up below for one or all of the classes.

An email with the Zoom link will be automatically emailed to you.
