explore the crucial roles of men and boys in indigenous culture

Athabasca Delta Community School Boys Grades 5 - 8

Activities include:

• Elder Mike Cardinal: Respect of Mother earth, moose hunting techniques, and women, roles and responsibilities and growing up as a young boy.

• Elder Gerald Gibot: Sharing stories of a Life as a Trapper and as a young boy. Display of traps and trap demonstration.

• Elder George Piche: Learning Basic Knots, knot tying skills, knots you learn to tie.

• Elder Roy Ladouceur: The Medicine Wheel

• Elder Edward Marten: Drum Making

• Darren Mercredi: Assisting Elder Edward Marten and a session of Drumming with the boys.

• Charlie Cardinal: Fishman techniques.

Snacks and drinks provided by Fort Chipewyan Métis.
