Mining Engineering Student September 2025


Student positions (including co-ops and interns) at Suncor are more than just a work term. Suncor has a vast student network where you’ll have the chance to meet fellow students from across Canada as part of our Fort McMurray Young Professionals Group (FMYP)!

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate Engineering Program with a Mining, Geological, or Civil Major at an accredited post-secondary institution

  • You must be returning to full-time studies after the work term

  • Attach your most recent transcripts with your application

  • For some roles, you may need to possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record


Location and other Key Details:

  • This is a/an 4, 8, 12, or 16-month term commitment beginning in September 2025. You will be asked to indicate your availability in your application

  • Potential locations for these student roles include Calgary, St. John's, and Fort McMurray (Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo). You will be asked to indicate your location preferences in your application

  • Relocation support will be provided if required

  •  Students who live and work in Fort McMurray are eligible for a cash allowance to address the cost of living and the remote nature of the region. To learn more about living and working in Fort McMurray, click here
